Among the vast numbers of orphaned and vulnerable children, children living with HIV can be considered the 'least of the least' as they are often overlooked or unseen. With very little care offered to this marginalized group of children, we feel that God has our organization to be part of the redeeming story He wants to author in their lives.
Our Core Values
1. Connect with Christ: Discipleship is at the core of everything we do. We deeply desire to help our children and staff connect with Christ in a meaningful way that celebrates who He is & who we are in Him.
2. Care for Children: Caring for children with HIV is what we do. And when it comes to caring, we want it to go well beyond good nutrition, quality healthcare, excellent education and a safe place to call home. We want our children to be cared for in a deep way that addresses their individual needs in a holistic way.
3. Change the Story: We want to help change the story that has been written in many of the lives of our children and staff members. We want to help rid the stigma of HIV and help create a redemption story for these kids, a story where the light of hope outshines any darkness that has covered their past.
4. Continue the Calling: There is more to life than today, so we want everything we do at Cherish Uganda to be sustainable and to have an eternal perspective. From relationships to investments, we want these commitments to be made with longevity and the bigger picture in mind.

We are a faith-based organization, founded upon and operating on Christian beliefs. Our faith and trust in Christ is what motivates and moves every act and decision made at Cherish Uganda.
We believe in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We cling to the Truth written in Ephesians 2:4-5, which reads, "But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved." Therefore, we believe that Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection has paved the way for reconciliation and relationship with our Heavenly Father. Upon putting one's faith in this Truth, we believe that God sends the Holy Spirit to indwell every new believer and lead them to live out lives in a manner worthy of the Gospel. As the Lord has radically transformed our lives with His redemptive grace, our hope is that each individual who steps foot in Cherish Uganda would also be awakened and redeemed by this Good News.
We envision a story of redemption for orphaned and vulnerable children living with HIV. We believe in their redemption spiritually, physically and educationally. We pray for a day when HIV will not be considered a death sentence, and a child's HIV status will not define their destiny. Our hope is that Cherish Uganda will be the foundation of a generation of HIV positive children being raised as signs and symbols of hope within their nation, with the Truth of the Gospel as their anthem.
