Get to Know the Phillips Family

About Brent Phillips

I am a father of 5 children (3 biological and 2 adopted). Two of our boys are married, so we also have 2 additional daughters! There are 4 people that live in our home - my wife of 28 years and our 2 youngest children (14 and 8).

I was born in California. I have studied Biblical Studies. My role at Cherish is Pastor/CEO. We started working at Cherish Uganda in 2010 when we packed up our bags and left Austin for Uganda (then returning to Austin in 2017). My favorite part of my role at Cherish is watching people develop and grow. In this role, I have personally grown in my trust in God to lead me/us and have also grown in my ability to lead individuals and our team at large. I hope I leave a legacy of a ministry that is deeply concerned about the growth and development of the people we serve and the staff that does the serving. A fun fact about me is that I love the mountains, going fast (motorcycles, dirt bikes, etc.) and dark chocolate. My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 1:6. One of my favorite Cherish memories is getting the opportunity to baptize children, staff and friends in Lake Victoria.
