Cherish Life Skills

Cherish teaches practical skills to empower students and adults for employment. Many in our community want an education, but they can't secure a job after school to help their families break the cycle of generational vulnerability and poverty.

In response, we launched a foundational course for children and a vocational program for teens and young adults.

Computer Program

The computer training program is a push toward practical and applicable learning for students at Cherish and adults in the community. The first piece of the educate to employ efforts are a computer training program for students and young adults in the community. The 6 month long boarding program was able to officially start in January 2022 and is enrolling 20 students.

In addition to learning computer programming, the students are taught job readiness (interview practice, resume building, and are educated on a variety of future job fields they could work toward).

Foundations Program

The COVID-19 pandemic forced the shutdown of Cherish Schools and allowed us to take a step back and evaluate how we can better improve the education component to our ministry moving forward.

We now enroll children with learning disabilities, setbacks, or other learning challenges in a small program of 20 students or less. This small class size allows us to have more one-on-one time equipping students to read, write, and understand arithmetic to make basic life tasks easier.
