Cherish Hospital has officially opened!

We had plenty to celebrate this December 1st at Cherish Uganda! Our children, staff, friends, and community gathered at the opening ceremony of our hospital!! Cherish Hospital will treat more than just physical needs, we hope to share the hope of Christ in this building and to be a place where people feel dignified because they are offered the quality healthcare they deserve.

The weeks leading up to our opening day of Cherish Hospital were filled with excitement and anticipation. Our container full of medical supplies and equipment made it just in time for us to be able to unload the 647 boxes and prepare for our first patients.

The opening day festivities took place on World AIDS Day and on the final day of our Selfless Selfie Campaign that raised funds for our hospital operations. Thanks to many of you who participated and gave, and to a generous pledge, we raised over $21,000 in the Campaign!

In these walls many will experience their first ever doctor's appointment. We are overjoyed that the day has finally arrived, and we are excited to see how this hospital will be able to help the local community. The kickoff event was a great full day of celebration and excitement as our Head of Health, Dr. Clara Komuhangi, got to share her vision and heart on how she will lead her hospital team. Airtel Uganda joined in to make the day special by bringing various donations to bless us during their #12DaysofChristmas. It's obvious that our kids were incredibly excited about the bicycles gifted to us. The kids couldn't stop smiling and neither could we.

Thank you to all of the donors that were apart of making this possible and for EMI, Engineering Ministries International, for designing our beautiful clinic building.
